Hospitality is at the heart of All Saints' parish life. We are called to fellowship with one another as well as welcoming the stranger. Ministries of hospitality take many forms. The plenary committee of Hospitality Ministries plans and schedules future events, and develops leadership teams to support for its programs.
Coffee Hour Ministries Sundays 11:30am Terri Bundy, Ministry Lead
Aiming to encourage comaraderie after the 10:30 service during the program year, and after the 9am service in the summer, this is an oh so appreciated ministry. Coffee Angels & Snack Angels sign up to prepare and present refreshments for our gatherings.
Coffee Angels are scheduled to provide coffee, tea, and water after the last church service on Sunday morning, usually serving once every 6 weeks. A great ministry for those who like to serve in a supporting role, making the coffee is surprisingly easy, and clean-up is a breeze. Newcomers are always welcome!
Snack Angels sign-up to provide fruit and crackers or cookies, adding sustenance to our fellowship experience.
Parish Breakfasts 1st Sundays of each Month (9:15 a.m.) Jennifer Gillespie, Ministry Lead
Food and fellowship bring parishioners together in a fun-filled and nourishing experience. During the program year (September-May), this monthly meal is prepared and served by one of our three rotating teams; each team serves only 3 times per year. New team members are always welcome!
Memorial Reception Ministry Linda Matias, Ministry Lead
Organizing receptions at the request of bereaved families (in conjunction with Worship Ministries' Funeral Coordinator), this team provides coffee/tea/water service, assists in set-up of Memorial Hall, welcoming and supporting guests and caterers, and clean-up following the event. Families provide the food (purchased, homemade, or catered).
Special Events Ministry Lead(s) tba Special Hospitality events planned for 2019/2020 include the Lessons & Carols Cookie Reception and Lenten Soup Suppers. When the Hospitality Plenary Committee plans its annual program, or agrees to support another ministry's event, the Special Events Team leads the planning, and recruits helpers with the full support of the Hospitality Ministries Team and its Team Leader.
Lessons & Carols Cookie Reception All Saints welcomes visitors from all over the North State to its Christmas Service of Lessons & Carols, and after the service, we welcome our friends and neighbors to share season's greetings, cookies, and something warm to drink, in our newly refurbished Memorial Hall.
Lenten Soup Suppers Gathering to share in prayer and a simple meal is a lenten tradition at All Saints. Parishioners sign-up to provide a bread, or a modest pot of soup or stew for all to share. Week by week, we share in the miracle of loaves and fishes; we don't always know how it will happen, but God provides.
